How it works
01
Reach out by phone or email. We'll log your birds, answer any questions, and get you set up with an order number.
02
A $100 deposit per order secures your place in the queue. This goes toward your final balance — it's not an extra fee.
03
Bring your bird to our studio. We store every bird carefully until it's time to work. Proper freezing beforehand is essential — see our storage tips below.
04
We'll text you as you hit key milestones in the queue — when you enter, as the number drops, and especially as you get close. No guessing where you stand.
05
When your birds are approaching the front of the queue, we'll schedule a call to talk through pose, mounting style, habitat details, and any specific requests before work begins.
06
Each bird takes approximately 5 hours of focused, skilled work. We'll send progress photos throughout the day so you can watch the mount come to life.
07
Once your mount is complete we'll notify you. The remaining balance is due at pickup. Your bird is ready to display.
Bird care
The quality of your mount starts in the field. Proper handling from the moment of harvest makes a real difference in the finished result.
Leave the bird intact. Field dressing damages the feathers and skin needed for mounting.
Lay the bird on its back in a cool, dry place right away. Keep it out of direct sun and away from heat.
Place the bird in a plastic bag, squeeze out all air, and freeze it. Double-bag if you can. Freeze it whole — don't let it thaw and refreeze.
Don't rub, ruffle, or reshape the feathers. Fold the wings naturally against the body before bagging.
Keep the bird frozen solid until drop-off. Use a cooler with ice if needed — a thawed and refrozen bird loses quality.
The fresher the bird when it's frozen, the better the end result. Same-day freezing is ideal.
FAQ
Orders are placed by phone or email — we don't have an online order form at this time. Give us a call or shoot us a message and we'll get everything set up, including your order number and deposit instructions.
The deposit is non-refundable once your bird has been dropped off and logged into our system, as we've committed queue space to your order. If you need to cancel before drop-off, reach out and we'll work with you.
Absolutely. Pose, wing position, habitat details, and mounting style are all discussed during your consultation call — which happens before any work begins. We want the mount to be exactly what you envisioned.
Yes. Contact us directly and we'll add the priority upgrade to your existing order. The $200 per bird fee can be arranged over the phone or by email.
We specialize in game birds — waterfowl, upland game, and raptors are our primary focus. If you have a bird outside those categories, contact us and we'll let you know what's possible.
Some shot damage is normal and expected — we're experienced at working around it. If the damage is significant we'll let you know during intake what's possible and what to expect from the final mount.
Every order gets a unique order number. We'll send text updates automatically as you hit key milestones in the queue — when you enter, as your position drops, and especially as you get close. For a status check anytime, reach out by phone or email with your order number.
